The Via delle Genti
The Via delle Genti is the ancient road linking the towns of Verbano and Switzerland: today this approximately 30-kilometer route has become an opportunity to physically and conceptually unite four Italian towns of Upper Lake Maggiore – Ghiffa, Oggebbio, Cannero Riviera and Trarego Viggiona – in a project to enhance the tourist and cultural value of the area.

The project
The project’s name recalls the Grand Tours of the nineteenth-century; the trips to Italy to discover its artistic and cultural heritage which initiated a concept of cultural tourism typical of the Bel Paese. Today, as then, on the new Grand Tour of the Via delle Genti you can discover the artistic installations created to enhance the territory’s heritage, interacting harmoniously with it.

Two Masterclasses
Additionally, two masterclasses brought young artists, practitioners and enthusiasts from all over Italy to Lake Maggiore, putting them in dialogue with the artists chosen for the project's temporary residencies, offering a top-tier educational experience.
Thematic excursions and tour packages aim to raise awareness of the works created during the residencies and at the collective construction sites, but also of the trails themselves and the historical, cultural and natural points of interest in this historically rich and beautiful area of Lake Maggiore.
