The Grand Tour sulla Via delle Genti project

The fruitful partnership made up of the municipalities of Ghiffa (lead), Oggebbio, Cannero Riviera and Trarego Viggiona (VB), together with the Pro Loco of Ghiffa and other local entities, has resulted in a rich program that includes a cycle of four residencies that brought experienced artists and cultural workers to experience the host places and to elaborate a collective return to enhance their identity.
Through art, therefore, the aim is to enhance the historical, cultural and environmental memory of this corner of Piedmont, giving harmony and encouraging a dialogue between the natural and man-made contexts created and inhabited by local communities.
The residencies thus forged a strong relationship with the villages, working and hosting spaces where the artists had the opportunity to reflect on the link between humans and the environment, as well as on the landscapes that embrace the historic Via delle Genti, the common denominator of all four art projects.
Artistic and Cultural Direction of the project is by Giulia Caffaro, Historian of Architecture and Contemporary Art, expert in cultural-based territorial regeneration, President and project manager of Dimora Design Farm ETS. Fundraising and General Coordination by Raffaella Simonetti/Niniqa Scarl(www.niniqa.it).
