On Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6, 2024, Ghiffa hosted the first of the two masterclasses included within the "Grand Tour on the Via delle Genti" project, two days of training and discussion on the themes of territorial regeneration, co-design and self-building as a community-building practice. During the masterclass held by Giulia Cerrato and Maddalena Pornaro, participants experienced the "self-building site" mode through various training sessions and workshops: welcomed by the territory of Ghiffa, some wooden habitable elements were built along the Via delle Genti hiking route on the Piedmont side of Lake Maggiore. Plus: videos, performances and networking moments to exchange best practices and network.

The masterclass was particularly suitable for those passionate about participatory design issues, urban regeneration of public space, tactical urbanism and social architecture. No special skills were needed, the masterclass was open to all, only the desire to build together essential.

It was possible to stay overnight in and around Ghiffa by reserving a reservation at participating facilities.
