MASTERCLASSES AND EVENTS

The results of the art residencies carried out as part of the "Grand Tour on the Via delle Genti" project were presented on four autumn weekends in the four locations involved.

A detailed schedule of the public presentations of the artworks can be found within this page.

Involvement of the local area and people also came in the form of two weekends of masterclasses, led by the artists selected for the Land Art and Self-Construction residencies (Ghiffa, Saturday 5th October and Sunday 6th October) and Street Art (Oggebbio, Saturday, 2nd November and Sunday 3rd November) and consisted of a training meeting and workshops, scheduled on the same weekends as the public presentation of the works.

The single masterclass addressed all aspects of the residency and offered participants a hands-on opportunity to experience the artistic style chosen for the location, contributing to its regeneration.

Participants were able to stay in contracted accommodations or in spaces provided by municipal authorities.

The master classes were free of charge.

TRAREGO VIGGIONA: PRESENTATION OF THE ARTWORK

Walter Paradiso, a Roman-born artist who has been active in Turin for many years, is the author of the work that the Municipality of Trarego Viggiona chose to narrate its territory.
It is a narrative, or rather a video narrative, created by Walter Paradiso by interweaving the narrative mode with informational signage, so as to create a journey between the present and the past that will serve as an inspiration for future visitors.

OGGEBBIO: PRESENTATION OF THE ARTWORK AND MASTERCLASS

Oggebbio became the setting for an urban art intervention by Fabio Petani, an internationally-renowned Piedmontese artist.
Fabio Petani's artistic residency intervened on a road retaining wall, transforming it into a natural embrace for the municipality of Oggebbio, celebrating its richness, not only through the representation of the beautiful flowers typical of the area, but also emphasising the historical, landscape and cultural importance of the Piedmontese shore of Lake Maggiore.

On the occasion of the presentation of the work (scheduled for the afternoon of 3rd November), a masterclass (on 2nd and 3rd November) invited students up to the age of 26 to enter the world of street art and learn about the mural as an art form.

In the future, the Via delle Genti was the protagonist of a tourism revival project, thanks to the creation of special tour packages and new tour itineraries involving Ghiffa, Oggebbio, Cannero Riviera and Trarego Viggiona. These occasions offered an opportunity to admire the artistic sites envisaged by the project in person, and the works that were created from them. These ranged from two-day hikes with local experiences related to the characteristics of the area, to the "Grand Tour of the artworks" to discover the essence of the artistic creations which led to a tour that is able to feature all the locations and represents an all-encompassing naturalistic and cultural experience.
